For 5 weeks, I traveled from New York to Chicago to Atlanta, back to New York, then to Dallas, back to New York, then Los Angeles, and San Francisco. What a ride, but a great success in getting our clients excited about our video advertising offering. We developed the food truck idea as a promotion to get our clients to spend their incremental Q4 dollars on video. Later we turned the promotion into a “thank you” for the holidays as we finished up our tour in early December. Overall, clients were excited to see us and happy to be visited.
Tactics
- Create a fun and exciting way to engage clients in key cities and remind them to spend Q4 incremental dollars on video
- Coordinated all pricing and contract negotiation to run food trucks in major markets, organized additional marketing material, created a flip book as a giveaway, and coordinate email marketing to send out to clients to remind them about the promotion
Results
- Contacted food trucks in major markets – New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco
- Coordinated with each truck to receive marketing materials and other custom decorations and instructions to pass out along the route
- Rode along to each route with sales people to greet customers, remind them about buying video, and thank them for being a client
